Our story
Started with a vision.
Fueled by a yes.
Shepherds Coffee Co. began in 2020 — just two founders, a vision, and a willingness to say yes. We catered first, one event at a time, one espresso bar at a time, learning the craft by showing up.
In July 2021 we opened our first shop in El Cajon. A year later we closed it. Not because we failed — because we listened. Sometimes the bravest thing a dream can do is pause, re-read the map, and pick a new line.
Today we're rooted at 2460 Imperial Ave — a specialty cafe, a direct-trade roaster, and a full-service mobile bar serving events across Southern California. What started with two people is now a team of dreamers, visionaries, and entrepreneurs who believe coffee can do more than wake you up.

Two people, one yes
Shepherds started as a catering-only operation — two founders with a vision and a willingness to say yes. No storefront, no team, just a commitment to show up and pour great coffee.
Our first shop — El Cajon
We opened our first physical location in July 2021. It was a beautiful year of learning what it meant to hold a room and build a team.
The reset
After about a year, we closed El Cajon to reassess. Not every chapter is the right one — we paused, listened, and set our sights on what was next.
Imperial Ave — and a movement
We opened the doors at 2460 Imperial Ave. Today we're a cafe, a roaster, a catering team, and a growing movement of dreamers, visionaries, and entrepreneurs.
